Topshop Sheer Lip in 'Chuck'

Taken on iphone (heavily applied)                                                Nikon D3100 (lightly applied)

I really cannot resist a lipstick, they are my ultimate guilty pleasure! I rarely stray from my nude lip which is evident if you look at the amount of nude lip posts I've done in the past but often I like to spice up my life and inject a bit of colour into my pout. Now I'm not too brave when it comes to colour so the Topshop Sheer Lip in 'Chuck' is perfect for me. This lipstick with its hint of colour and gorgeous formula has really won me over.

Lets start with the packaging. The Topshop Sheer Lips have different packaging to the normal lipsticks and have a taller, thinner and sleeker case. The matte black and starry design is very different to the normal packaging but is equally as lovely.

The formula applies so easily, leaving a moisturising shiny finish. When I say moisturising I really do mean it! It's like applying Vaseline to my lips, it makes them so smooth! The sheer finish it leaves is really appealing to me as it makes my lips look really healthy and plump which they definitely don't normally look like!

This is the kind of lipstick you can wear on a daily basis and not worry if it is fading as it just blends into your natural lip colour. I would describe the colour as a wash of cherry on the lips as although it is red it also has pinkish tones to it, especially when you build it up as you can see in the swatch and the iphone pic! I do however prefer lightly applying it so that it looks natural and fresh.

This has now become my go to lipstick if I'm in a rush and want a wash of colour on my lips but don't want to keep touching it up throughout the day! I'm really pleased I got it and my new found fondness of Topshop makeup is definitely growing!

  1. They're lovely and sheer, but also quite glossy by the looks of things. A nice alternative to the Revlon lip butters shall we say :-)
