Ebay Jessy Makeup Brushes

I've heard a few beauty gurus talk about these on youtube and I was intrigued by these cheap brushes from eBay that were being raved about. I was quite sceptical about buying makeup brushes on eBay for such a cheap price as I thought that they would be horrible quality or fall apart when I started to use them but I ignored the little voice in my head that told me not to buy them and did anyway. Let me first just say that as they were being shipped from China they took around three weeks to be delivered which is slightly annoying but they got here in the end.

I decided to buy the 8pcs set instead of the 12pcs set as I already have an abundance of brushes and really don't have much need for many more! The set comes with four big face brushes and four eye/concealer brushes. The four smaller brushes are really great and are actually so useful for contouring and highlighting as they get in all the nooks and crannies.
One of the face brushes does the exact same job as the Real Techniques Face Brush and is basically a dupe but at a much lower price. The brushes are so soft they feel like velvet on the skin and feel really light especially when applying foundation.

One thing I will say is when I took them out of the packaging they did smell slightly like paint stripper which is quite worrying but the smell fades after a while!

Although they probably won't last as long as some of my other higher end brushes £11.58 is a bargain price for eight brushes. I think its a great set for someone who is starting out with makeup and needs some affordable brushes that do the job and are lovely and soft on the skin!

Soap and Glory Makeup

Working so close to Oxford Street is a very dangerous thing. I spend pretty much every lunchtime wandering the aisles of Superdrug and Boots looking for new beauty goods to splurge on. Last week on one of my lunch trips I found my self at the Soap and Glory section of Superdrug and knew I must give in and allowed myself to pick up some bits. It's quite hard to resist the Soap and Glory section once you get there, all of the packagings it's so gorgeous and retro. I've tried so much of Soap And Glory's body products but these two products are my first encounter with the makeup side of the brand so I was very excited to give their products a try!

The two products I picked up are the Supercat Extreme Eyeliner Pen and the All about Prime eyeshadow primer in 'Bright Light'. I really needed a new Eyeliner which is how I justified this purchase and I had been told that it's a really good liner so obviously I wanted to try it out for myself. Soap and Glory had a buy one get the second one half price deal on so I chose something else as I can never resist deals! I liked the look of their eyeshadow primer so I popped it in the basket and rushed to the checkout before I changed my mind.

The Supercat Extreme Eyeliner pen has quickly become one of my favourite eyeliners. Firstly, this is the easier eyeliner I've ever used and is pretty much foolproof. It takes me half the time using this eyeliner than before and it creates a beautiful black defined line. The nib is quite firm so It really is like using a pen and ensures that little to no error is made which for me is a priority.

I'm quite new to the world of eyeshadow primers and I usually just put my normal primer over my eyelid. I've tried the Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer but I find it too expensive. I really wanted an eyeshadow primer that would conceal the blue/purple veins on my eyelid and give them an even finish. It has a slight shimmer when you apply it which at first I thought would irritate me but I actually really like it, its a very light shimmer and looks very natural. I've found that my eyeshadow and eyeliner has lasted a lot longer throughout the day when using this and the finish is really lovely as well!

I'm really impressed with the Soap and Glory beauty products and I am definitely going to try out some more of them! I really like the look of their powders and I've read great things about them so they're definitely on the wishlist!

Current Base Favourites

I was thinking over the weekend of posts to do and I thought I would share with you my base favourites, so my primer, foundation, concealer etc that I'm loving at the moment. I've been using this combination of products for just under a month and I've loved the result that they produce together.

Clinique Universal Superprimer - This has been my go-to primer for quite a while now, I've been using it for a fair few months and I've really been getting along well with it. It creates a really smooth base for my foundation and my makeup always lasts longer when I wear it.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation - I brought this foundation a couple of months ago but didn't get along with it at first as it is quite full coverage and I was going through a phase of wanting a lighter foundation. However, around a month ago I had a horrible breakout on my forehead and really wanted a foundation that would hide it all so I turned to this one and it has really done a good job. I now alternate this one with my L'Oreal Nude Magnique foundation depending on how my skin is. Another reason I really like this foundation is that it lasts on your face all day and so I don't have to keep topping up my makeup. If you are looking for a new foundation that has great coverage but doesn't leave your face looking caked I would definitely recommend this one!

Collection Concealer - I've purchased so many of the collection concealers in the past and they're just such a foolproof choice. I buy the lightest shade as I use it to highlight my face as well as lighten any scaring I have from spots. Whenever I get a spot on my face it always leaves a mark on my face that doesn't go for around a week so I like to use a light concealer to lighten the dark mark.

Garnier Roll on under the Eye Concealer - I love using this concealer under my eyes, it feels so refreshing and covers up my dark circles. If I'm having a foundation free day I still like to use this product as it really brightens under my eyes and makes me look so much healthier and alive!

So there we have it my current favourite base products. As I said before this combination is working really well for me at the moment so I'll probably be sticking to this until the foundation runs out.

Hope you're getting through Blue Monday!

REVIEW ♡ NYX Lip Liners

I've wanted to try out NYX products for a ridiculously long time so back in December when perusing the Youtube world I came across a beauty guru who mentioned the website Beauty Joint which sells loads of American beauty goods for reasonable prices that ship to the UK, so I was excited to finally get some NYX bits. I only found out a couple of weeks ago that NYX actually has a UK website which would have been a lot simpler but anyway I have them now and they were slightly cheaper on Beauty Joint. I put myself on a slight ban on buying too much and limited myself to buying one product, well one product in four different shades (oops). The shades I chose are pink/nude colours as I wear a nude lip almost every day so I will get the most use out of them.

Natural - a medium beige shade with a slight hint of brown
Peekaboo Neutral - a rosy-toned nude
Nude Pink - a pink shade with a slight beige undertones
Pale Pink - a soft light pinky mauve

I've found that Peekaboo Neutral and Nude Pink are rather similar and are definitely my favourites of the bunch. I've had them for around two weeks and I've used Nude Pink the most as I really love the colour and how it looks lovely on the lips. I would definitely recommend these as they are great quality, have a decent staying time and are really reasonably priced.

I can't wait to order some more of these liners and other NYX goodies in the future! Anyone have any good recommendations for NYX products I should try?

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Eyeshadow Duo

 Hello Lovelies,

Just before Christmas, I picked up the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Eyeshadow Duo in the colour 'Shells' as it is absolutely b-e-a-utiful. Having never tried any of Estee Lauder's eyeshadows before I was intrigued to see what they were like. If I'm not wearing neutral shades on my lids I love pink/purple toned shades as they always accentuate my brown eyes, making them stand out much more than they usually do which is why I went for 'Shells'.
'Shells' has two shades made for each other. One accentuates whilst the other contours. The first shade is a matte lilac colour which really opens the eye and is really fresh looking. The second shade used for contouring is a purple metallic colour which is so pretty and catches the light really nicely. Personally I sometimes just wear the metallic shade by itself as its quite a strong shade on its own but it does really look gorgeous contoured against the matte lilac.

As you can tell by the swatches the pigmentation of these eye shadows are amazing and they apply like a powdery velvet which feels so lovely. This also makes blending it out easy as well. The packaging is very luxe as are the majority of Estee Lauder's packaging, with beautiful gold casing and elegant design.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Eyeshadow Duo can be found at Boots for £23.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette - 'Pink Spirit'

This year I'm on a mission to inject more colour into my life both on my face and in my wardrobe. So when I made my usual trip into Superdrug to look around I avoided my beloved nudes and hunted out something that took me out of my comfort zone. This blush palette is something else, it's three very vivid and elaborate shades of pink that I normally would never go near. Before I get down to describing each shade individually I must say these blushes need to be applied with a very light hand to avoid looking like a dolly!

Pink Parfait - This blush is the deepest of the shades, with a plum undertone to it. I would say it's probably the hardest to blend out of the three and needs the lightest of hands to apply. I'm not a huge fan of this shade but it could look nice with the right look.

Pink Ice - Out of the three it was this one that I was most cautious of, I mean look at that colour it's extremely pink and reminds me of Barbie. To my surprise this is actually my favourite of the three, it looks so beautiful on and is really very different to any blush shade that I've worn before.

Pinktini -  This also has a slight undertone but isn't as dark as Pink Parfait so it's much easier to blend into the cheeks. I love this colour, it's not as pigmented as the other two so it's much easier to wear.

Overall, I'm really glad I brought this palette as just looking at it it's so beautiful! Although it is a rather bright palette don't be put off by the vividness of these colours, they're really not that scary!
Sleek's Blush By 3 palettes retail at £9.99 each which I would say is quite reasonable for three blushes. I already own the 'Lace' blush trio which is also gorgeous so if your more of an orange toned blush kinda girl or aren't feeling too adventurous check that one out instead as its lovely! I think I'm going to give in and buy the pumpkin trio also because I can't get enough of Sleek's blushes!
