Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick

Recently I was going through all of my lipsticks and realised that I don't have many high shine lipsticks as I normally stick to matte formulas or formulas with a slight sheen. So I made it my duty to ensure that I changed this so there's another new lipstick that's made its way into my collection and I think this one is staying. The Clinique Butter Shine lipstick is creamy, smooth and delivers great colour, basically, it ticks all the boxes.

I love this shade 'Fresh Watermelon' as it is a bright pinky-red watermelon colour that is absolutely gorgeous. One of my New Years resolutions is to wear more colour both on my face and in my wardrobe (pretty much all of my clothes are monochrome) so this lipstick is one of my first steps towards brighter colours. What I like is that as it's so glossy it doesn't make the colour too overwhelming and leaves a much softer finish than a matte lipstick.

I would say that this lipstick is like a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss but without the horrible stickiness of a gloss. I was actually surprised at how pigmented this lipstick is, the shine/gloss lipsticks I have used in the past always seem to lack in terms of pigmentation but this one has really got a great balance of high pigmentation and a glossy, sheen finish.

Just a little side note this lipstick doesn't taste amazing, not that you're going to eat it or anything, although sometimes I feel like eating my MAC lipsticks as they smell so good ha. What I'm trying to say is if you lick your lips quite a bit you probably will have a slight issue as the taste is just icky.

Review | MAC Lipstick in 'Sweet Sunrise'

This little beaut lipstick was part of my Christmas from my lovely sister this year. She knows me pretty well so she knew that buying me a nude lipstick would earn her a lot of sister points.

Although I own a lot of nude lipsticks they are all quite dark nudes and I would never normally buy a lighter nude as they can look awful, they remind me of my early teens when I would put foundation on my lips and think I looked amazing, oh how wrong I was. As 'Sweet Sunrise' has a lustre formula it doesn't cake your lips so although it's light it comes out as a pretty sheer pale pink. I like to blot my lips with a tissue after application which is why it doesn't look so glossy in the photo but you can build the gloss up quite a bit with the Lustre lipsticks.

It lasts for around three hours and doesn't dry out your lips which are perfect for me as in this cold weather my lips are constantly chapped and putting dry lipstick on dry lips is not attractive.

Sadly you can't buy this lipstick on the MAC website anymore as it was Limited Edition quite a while back and I'm not quite sure how my sister hunted it down but if you just type it into Google it pops up various times on different websites. I've also seen it on eBay a few times!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Clinique Chubby Sticks For Lips

 Hello Lovelies,

Today I'm sharing with you my new lip obsession - Clinique's Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm aka Chubby Stick. These four are my current little collection with Heaping Hazelnut being my absolute favourite! Lipsticks have always been my most loved makeup products, I love them so much but sometimes it's nice to have a break from them. Wearing a tinted balm moisturizes your lips while giving them great colour. I've tried very similar products by Revlon and other brands but I've never got as such good results as these little beauties.

Why I favour wearing these on a day to day basis rather than a lipstick is that they feel so light on the lips. Unlike certain lipsticks when they fade they don't leave any horrible residue behind so your lips don't have bits of colour here and there which can look horrific especially when you don't realise its there and someone has to point it out to you! They don't last quite as long as a lipstick but applying them throughout the day is just like applying a lip balm and you don't need a mirror to apply it unless you have a very unsteady hand!

Now for the break down of each individual Chubby:

Whole Lotta Honey - When I first saw this shade I thought that looks like a horrible dark brown shade that I couldn't possibly get away with wearing. However don't let it's the exterior fool you, this is a darker toned nude that is so lovely!

Heaping Hazelnut - This chubby has earned itself a permanent spot in my handbag. It is the perfect 'my lips but better' shade that is perfect for everyday wear. It's perfect for when you have a heavy eye look and don't want to overdo your lips!

Pudgy Peony -Looking at this shade just makes me happy it is an incredible pink shade that gives the lips an instant pick me up and makes everything pop. If you are a hot pink kinda girl this shade will be right up your street!

Mighty Mimosa - This shade has been my least used but I think that's because I've been too busy obsessing over the other shades. However its a gorgeous cross between a nude and a light pink/coral shade. I think I will use this one a lot more in the Summer!

Have you tried Chubbies before? Whats your favourite shade?

Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel

I'm one of those people that can't seem to stick to one cleanser. I'm constantly changing up my skincare routine, altering which cleanser I use each day. When it comes to cleansers I always love opting for Elemis' products. This Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel is the perfect winter cleanser. The formula is like a thick gel which feels so lovely and really melts into the skin, allowing a thorough cleanse. I quite like the idea of a gel cleanser, it's quite different and the texture feels really unusual yet satisfying. It has a citrus scent with notes of oranges of lemons which is gorgeous and smells so refreshing, it's not one of those citrus smells that's too overpowering.

It's a really luxurious cleanser which when massaged into the face feels so incredible! Once I have massaged it into my face I like to lay a hot cloth or flannel over my face and gently wipe it away. Although I don't think you are supposed to use this to remove your eye makeup I do. It takes of my liquid eyeliner and mascara so easily and doesn't leave any clumps of mascara in my lashes.

I started using this as just my night time cleanser but now I use it in the mornings as well. I've become slightly addicted to how it makes my skin look, it leaves the skin looking radiant and refreshed. I'm a huge advocate of double cleansing, to thoroughly get all of the makeup and dirt off of my skin, allowing my skin to breathe. I love using this cleansing gel and following it with the Elemis Tri-enzyme Wash which works wonders for your skin!

This cleanser retails at £19.40 on for 125ml. It's really is a gem of a product so if you need a new cleanser then look no further!

December Glossy Box

The Glossy Box packaging this month is Christmassy themed (win). The box is red with a beauty esque Christmas tree on the front and the tissue paper has a candy cane print which is just too adorable.

Here's what was included in my box this month:

1. Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Nude Lipgloss - Nude lips are my go to so a new nude lip gloss is always welcomed into my collection. I wore this lip gloss all day yesterday and it's actually really nice. It's not too drying and is a very pretty dusty pink shade. Winner!

2. Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor -When I opened up my Glossybox my first thought was what on earth is this huge thing that's taken up half of my Glossybox, the answer was a very big razor. I'm really intrigued to try this out as it looks rather intimidating yet rather cool.

3. Maybelline New York Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara - Now if I didn't already own two of these brow mascaras then I would be so happy with receiving this. I've reviewed this brow mascara before so if you want to know what it's like have a scroll back through my blog or If your too lazy to do that basically its a very good, affordable brow mascara. Sadly I received the 'Dark Brown' shade so unless I dye my hair darker I think I'll be giving this one to my Mum or Sister.

4. Seche Seche Nail Lacquer - Another dark nail polish shade. I've tried Seche nail products before and they've been lovely but once again I've been sent a dark navy almost black shade which I just won't wear - gutted.

5. Bee Nature Bee Nature Soap - To sum this up its a natural smelling soap. I tend to opt for soaps that smell incredible, mainly from Lush so I wasn't too overjoyed to see a soap that smells rather plain with a slight honey scent but I haven't used it yet so it could be wonderful who knows.

Collection's Gothic Glam Lipsticks

I'd never tried any of Collection's lipsticks before but when I came across their Gothic Glam collection in Boots I knew I had to try them out. The packaging is one thing that I really don't like about Collection's lipsticks, it looks so cheap and isn't exactly exciting. However, trying not to judge it on what it looks like I picked up the shades 'Seduction' and 'Scorned'. The formula can be quite drying on the lips but if applied over a lip balm it doesn't dry out your lips.

The two shades I chose really appealed to me as they are very winter esque and are different from any lipsticks I own. 'Seduction' which is my favourite of the two is the perfect shade for Christmas time. If you're like me and find it hard sometimes to pull off a bold red lip this is the perfect alternative. It's a very pink toned red that is very pigmented and looks so gorgeous on.

It was very adventurous for me to pick up 'Scorned' as I tend to avoid very dark colours which this definitely is. To be honest, this shade didn't really do it for me, it wasn't as bold on as I expected it to be and looked like I'd just smeared dirt on my lips. I think that when buying a darker lipstick it has to be very moisturizing which this sadly was not. It's annoying because I was really looking forward to trying something different but it looked horrific.

On the whole, I have mixed feelings towards Collection's lipsticks. 'Seduction' is such a lovely colour and has been a staple in my winter makeup routine but 'Scorned' really disappointed me. I wasn't expecting much as they were around £3 each but I can't help but compare them to my higher end lipsticks such as MAC which they don't really stand a chance against. I probably won't purchase a Collection lipstick again but it was nice to try them out.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Beauty Tool Tuesday: The Hairdryer That Blew Me Away

I haven't done Beauty Tool Tuesday in quite a few weeks so I'm glad to be back with a beauty tool that I've been in love with recently. I really needed a new hair dryer as I've had my old one for quite a while which would spark and made a noise that scared me half to death. Therefore it was an eye-opening to go from a dying hair dryer to a new hair dryer that creates enough air that it could double as a wind machine.

I was slightly dubious that by using a different, more advanced hair dryer I could really change the quality and look of my hair but I have been proven wrong by the Remington Silk Dryer. It drys my hair so quickly and it also has a Turbo boost function that increases the airflow by 10%. There are three speeds - the hot, warm and cool and also a cool burst button that lets out nice cold air which I love to use as I always tend to get really hot and flustered when blow drying my hair.

This is the heaviest dryer I've ever used which I view as quite a good thing. To me, this means that it's sturdy, durable and well-made meaning that it will work well for a few years. However, some people may prefer a slightly lighter weight as it can strain your arm slightly if you're using it for a long while. Thankfully I have medium/short hair so as it doesn't take me a long time to blow dry my hair this issue doesn't really bother me. The hairdryer is made with silk ceramic coating and an ion generator which according to Remington 'ensures a silky-smooth salon style every time'. I've been watching quite a few 'How to professionally blow dry your hair at home' videos at the moment and the combination of the new tricks I've learnt and this amazing hair dryer I am able to create salon results at home.

If you're looking for a new hairdryer I would definitely recommend this one, it makes all the hair dryers I've used in the past look rubbish. It would also make a great gift!

Have a lovely Tuesday!

HG Products: L'oreal Telescopic Mascara

It's taken me my fair share of mascaras to find the fairest mascara of them all and it's a good'un. L'oreal Telescopic Mascara, in my opinion, is the crème de la crème of high street mascaras and dare I say it beats many higher end mascaras as well. I used this mascara back when I was younger and loved it but I always thought there would be something better out there with loads of new releases so it really was left forgotten for a couple of years. Back in July before my holiday, I was on the hunt for waterproof mascara and so I brought the waterproof version of this mascara knowing that it would be good. I quickly fell back in love with it and questioned why on earth I had forgotten about this little tube of wonder that transformed my lashes. I then brought a non-waterproof version as I hate spending so long trying to get waterproof mascara off my lashes and I'm never turning back.

The mascara really opens the eyes up and makes the lashes look longer and fuller. One of my favourite things about this mascara is that it doesn't leave your eyelashes looking clumpy unless you apply a ridiculous amount of coats. Instead, it separates the lashes and coats them individually making them look much more natural. The wand itself is incredible, it's almost like a comb which brushes through the lashes. It allows a really easy application, ensuring every lash is given attention.

As I rely on my eyelash curlers to give my usually straight lashes a curl I also rely on my mascara to keep that curl in which is exactly what L'oreal Telescopic does. Better than any other mascara I've used the curl is emphasized and doesn't slowly flatten down throughout the day.

This is a mascara you can rely on and although it's at the more expensive end of a drugstore mascara at £10.99 it's worth every penny. This is the Clean Definition version of the L'Oreal Telescopic Mascaras, I'm aware that they also do a false lash version which I would really love to try out, so if you've used it before let me know if it's any good!

Have you tried L'oreal Telescopic Mascara? Do you love it as much as I do?

Barry M Natural Glow Palette Review

I've never really tried many of Barry M's make-up products but I'm a huge fan of their nail polishes so I was intrigued when they released 3 different eye and cheek palettes. The palettes aim to 'cater to every occasion and every outfit'. Natural Glow, Smokin' Hot and Glamour Puss allow you to each create a certain look. I knew that Natural Glow was going to be the one I would buy as it's the most wearable and I will get the most usage out of the shades in it. The other two look gorgeous though!

The packaging is right up my street as it's simple, neutral and has a perfectly sized mirror in the lid. Inside the palette are 6 eyeshadows, 1 blush and 2 foam applicators. The palette itself consists of very neutral colours, many of these shades are similar to those in the Naked palette which is a much more expensive alternative.
I've found myself using the darker metallic colours much more as they are really beautiful and are more pigmented than the lighter colours which really need to be built up to achieve a noticeable colour.

The blush won't be everyone's taste but I actually think it's a really sweet pink and gives a really natural blush on the cheeks when applied. Although I won't use the blush too much it is handy having it in the eyeshadow palette as its so accessible.

If the lighter eye-shadows in the palette were slightly more pigmented I would be singing this palettes praise but sadly they really let down this otherwise lovely palette.

Have you tried any of the Barry M Palettes yet?

NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo

Last week I was checking my emails and saw that ASOS had increased the 10% student discount to 20% for a limited time so I immediately found the ASOS wishlist on my phone and searched through what I was going to splurge on. I'm one of those people that even if they don't need anything if I see a discount I feel required to buy something, I convince myself that I'm saving money in the long run. So I thought I would treat myself to a little early Christmas present. I've never tried any of NARS products before but I've always wanted to try the Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer as they're cult products and everyone seems to rave about them. When I saw this beautiful little duo with both of them in I knew I must have it!

The first thing I noticed when unpacking my little ASOS box was the packaging, the NARS packaging is so sleek and compact which I absolutely love! With packaging, I love non-fuss and simplicity which is just what the NARS packaging encompasses. I like the idea of a bronzer and blusher duo as it is so easy to pop in my makeup bag and not take up a ridiculous amount of space.

The blusher is beautiful as it has a slight shimmer which I'm really into at the moment and makes the cheeks look glowing. As it is a highlighting blush it really makes the cheeks stand out and makes them the focal point of the face. I also love that this blush works well both in the day and the night and the gold flecks in it are really gorgeous.

Everyone in the beauty world always gushes over the Laguna bronzer so I was so excited to try out what so many people regard as their holy grail product. After using it for a week I can now say that it is the best bronzer I've ever used, it works really well as a contour bronzer but also is great for overall bronzing. I love that its matte as for me shimmer bronzers always look so unnatural. Laguna allows me to fake a glowing tan and looks healthy and natural.

Overall I am so pleased with my purchase, especially as I got it discounted! The colours are lush and are pigmented and easily blended. If anyone is looking at buying any NARS products I would definitely check out ASOS as they always have great discounts and offers. *Today (1st December) ASOS has 20% off of everything for 24 hours*

November Favourites

This is the first post in over two weeks and I've really missed my little blog a lot! I've been away from home and didn't have my camera to take any photos so I was unable to put any posts up. However, what this does mean is that I have a list of things to blog about and so in the next week expect a lot of posts! I thought I would start off with my November favourites as tomorrow is the 1st December (squeals) and I've got a few products that I've been loving this month.

The first thing is the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner. TRESemmé is the haircare brand that I always return to mostly because It always pleases me and has a long-lasting scent that smells incredible on the hair. I was suffering from extremely frizzy hair at the beginning of this month and needed to tame it. This shampoo and conditioner have turned my once frizzy mane into sleek and shiny locks. I've also been loving the TRESemmé straightening spray which smooths the hair and ensures no kinks appear in my hair.

My next favourite this month has got to be the Right Guard Shower + Oils that makes me look forward to having a shower as I'm much more of a bath girl. The combination of Argan, Marula and Almond oils leave the skin feeling so soft and smelling gorgeous. I normally prefer a shower cream as opposed to the gel as I feel it's more nourishing but the added oils really treat and nourish the skin!

Now on to makeup. This Month I've had three products that I've used almost every day. First up is the Sleek Blush Palette in Lace which I can't get enough of. I've had the palette for a while but took it away with me as it offers three blushes in a palette which gives me a nice choice of blushes to use. However, the one colour I've worn the most is Guipure which I can't seem to get enough of. Next up is Seventeens Phowarr Paint which I blogged about earlier in the month. This under the eye concealer is just great and it always picks me up and makes me look a lot more acceptable on an early morning. Last but not least is my L'Oreal Collection Privee lipstick by Cheryl which I can say I've worn almost every day for the past two weeks. It's the best daytime lipstick and looks beautiful on, it also gets a lot of compliments which is always nice!

Hope you've all had a lovely month :)

November Glossy Box

Another month, another Glossy Box. Whenever I receive my box I can't believe how much time has gone by! Last months box was rather lacklustre and had me questioning my subscription but I couldn't bare to part with the pretty little pink box that gets delivered to my doorstep. This month to see some full-size products mixed in and some products that I'll actually use!
Included in the November box is:

1. Vichy Idealia Life Serum (3 samples)  - For ages now I've wanted to get my hands on the Vichy Idealia Life Serum so I was ecstatic to see that there were samples included in the box. Granted they're only small but this is the kind of thing I actually enjoy samples of as it means I can try it out and see if I like it before I purchase. I can't wait to try it out and see if it lives up to its much-hyped standard!

2. Emite Make Up Micronized Eyeshadow - This shade reminds me so much of MAC's 'Naked Lunch' eyeshadow which is by far my favourite eye shadow shade. I already know I'm going to use this eyeshadow a lot.

3. Yves Rocher Hand Cream - This hand cream smells so divine. If you like cocoa butter then this hand cream will be right up your street. I have a slight penchant for hand creams so it's always lovely to have a new one.  I've never tried any Yves Rocher products before but I've heard them mentioned a couple of times they're a great affordable brand so it's nice to try this out.

4. Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails - I always hate waiting for my nails to dry so this is perfect for me. I've never used a nail drying spray before only when I've had my nails done professionally so I'm super excited to give this a go.

5. B. Nail Polish - I wouldn't have personally picked this shade myself as its a very dark grey almost black and I tend to wear lighter colours on my nails. Despite this, I painted it on my nails, which actually look quite nice. It's high shine and dries pretty quickly.

Seventeen's Phwoarr Paint - Heavy duty under eye concealer

I've had quite a few late nights and early mornings recently which have resulted in horrible dark circles under my eyes. I normally get by just using my Garnier eye roller which does the job however I needed something with slightly more coverage. I'd heard a lot of things about Seventeen's heavy duty under the eye concealer and knew that I needed it in my life.

I've never really bought anything from the Seventeen collection so I was slightly wary as to whether or not my skin would get on with it but the first experience has gone down a treat. The concealer is thick, creamy and camouflages up those dark circles making you look like you've had a full nights rest when really you've been surviving on four hours sleep. It also covers up blemishes reasonably well and hides the broken capillary I have under my eye so that it's barely visible.  I probably won't need to use this every day but it's now a staple in my makeup bag and I'm forever thankful for its ability to make me look half alive in the mornings!
