Review: BH Cosmetics Wild Child Baked Eyeshadow Palette

 Hey lovelies,

I've wanted to try out BH Cosmetics products for a really long time as they offer a range of affordable makeup products which I have heard lots of good things about. Back at the beginning of January I put in a big order, if you follow me on twitter you may have seen the picture of the palettes I chose, which look so gorgeous and colourful! Throughout the next month I will be reviewing each of my purchases! To start of the BH Cosmetics reviews I have this gorgeous Wild Child baked eyeshadow palette.

The Wild Child Baked Eyeshadow palette was one of the first products to catch my eye when I was browsing the website, not only do I love the animal print packaging but the colours looked right up my street. I’ve heard really good things about the BH baked eyeshadow formula and their pigmentation so I was excited to try them out. As you can tell by the swatches the colour pay off is insanely good for the price. This nine pan palette contains a mixture of both neutral and bold shades. Theres some bronze, peachy, taupe, white, and purple shades. They all have a gorgeous metallic shimmer to them. You can use these shadows just as they are or you can use them with a damp brush to get an even better pigmentation which makes a lot more of an impact and in my opinion gives a much nicer finish. Another great thing about these shadows is that they really stick to the lids and with an eyeshadow primer last all night!

The packaging is a lot bigger than expected which is good as I thought it would be tiny and it has a really great large mirror which is great for when your doing your makeup on the go. This would be a great palette to take on holiday or for a weekend away as you can create such a range of looks with the colour selection. I'm hoping to do some face of the day/night with the BH eyeshadow palettes soon so keep your eyes peeled!

This palette is currently in the sale for the bargain $9.95. The shipping took just under three weeks to arrive as it was coming all the way from America to the UK.

Hope your all having a lovely week so far!

Review: Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour & Highlight

Sculpting Contour stick in 01 Curvy Contour and the Sculpting Highlight in 01 Hefty Highlight.

If your like me when a new contour/highlight product comes on the market its a very exciting time. Clinique have an extensive range of chubby sticks, for your eyes, cheeks, lips and now they've really upped their game and brought out ones for your highlight and contour!

A Couple of years ago I had no clue whatsoever what contouring and highlighting was and little did I know it would become an essential part of my daily routine. As my makeup obsession grew I kept hearing things about it and was so intrigued. I first tried highlighting and contouring after watching Kim Kardashian makeup tutorials on youtube and I was fixated at the way you can add so much definition to the face by adding this process to your makeup routine. My first attempts at trying it out myself left me looking hilarious with a very patchy miss matched face (we've all been there). One thing that I learnt over the years is that the key to perfect contouring and highlighting its keeping it looking natural. Personally I love a cream based contour opposed to powder as it looks a lot more natural and blends easier, so these two sticks sounded so ideal for me.

Personally the contour stick is a big winner for me, it makes contouring a quick and easy process and is ideal for when your in a rush but still want your contour game to be strong. The highlight stick is also lovely, with its pearl like shimmer that really captures the light and makes the areas to which it is applied stand out. The two used in combination with each other really add definition to the face and allow you to sculpt out certain areas to look less or more prominent. As they're both a cream formula on a stick it makes it easy to get precise application and then they blend out so nicely.

If you are new to highlighting and contouring these would be perfect for you as they are pretty much foolproof and are so easy to work with. These babies will be launching on the 6th February 2015 and retail at £19 a pop.

Will you be trying out the Clinique Highlight and Contour Chubbies?

Review: Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks

(L-R) Buttercup, 1995, Nude, Cherry Cordial

At long last I have got my hands on some of the Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks and boy oh boy are they beautiful. If you are an avid fan of many American Beauty Vloggers like I am then you would have seen these lipsticks talked about a lot, for months I have seen these pop up everywhere. Two of my personal favourites Carli Bybel and Jaclyn Hill rave about these lipsticks and I knew that I needed them in my life. I ordered the four lipstick deal from www.whiteninglightning.com, and used the code thankful4 to get four shades of the lipsticks for $38 dollars(£24.82), which for four really good lipsticks is a pretty good price. The shipping was free last month which was another added bonus, and they came really quickly! As I have been lusting over the Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks for quite a while its fair to say that I was very excited when the four of them arrived in the post. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging which is absolutely gorgeous, it's similar to the MAC lipstick shape but it has a shiny gold casing instead. I chose the following four shades:

Buttercup - A sweet pink, this is one of my favourite of the four its such a wearable everyday shade and is really nice if you like slightly glossy pink lips which still give great colour pay off.

1995 - This is the perfect shade if your into the 'Kylie Jenner lip'. This is the lipstick that I have really heard talked about a lot. It was especially formulated to resemble the Kylie lip and it really does. Its quite a dark natural lip colour and really makes the lips look fuller.

Nude - An orange toned nude. A medium nude, its not too dark and its not too light.

Cherry Cordial - A vampy dark red/purple. I'm really excited to wear this one out as I love dark lips and its a really deep shade.

The formula of the Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks is really nice - its creamy to apply and they appear really matte on the lips (apart from Buttercup which has a slight gloss to it) but they don't dry your lips out at all. The lasting power is also on point they last for a really long time, I would even say some of them especially 1995 is on MAC's matte lipsticks staying power levels. I really love all of the shades that I picked up but would say Buttercup and 1995 are my absolute favourites! On a whole I'm really impressed with them and I really want to try some more of the Gerard Cosmetics products, they also have a really nice selection of lip glosses that complement the lipsticks.

Hope your all having a lovely day!

2014 Makeup Favourites

2014 has almost come to an end and the New Year is less than 24 hours away, which for me is a very scary concept. This year has flown by unbelievably quickly and has on a whole been a really good year for me. As a round up for the year I thought I would share my top makeup products of 2014. I've picked six makeup products that I personally have loved throughout the year, the majority of them I've been using for the whole year and others are ones that I've discovered this year and have really stood out for me.

1. MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter in 'Light Boost'
The thing I love most about this highlighter is that it's on a brush so it's easy to apply and gives just enough precision for highlighting those tricky places like the bridge of the nose. It's so lightweight and the shade is perfect for brightening up under the eyes.

2. Clinique Universal Primer
I've been using this primer for over a year now and for me its my go-to base. It preps the skin perfectly for foundation application and has just become an essential part of my makeup routine.

3. Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour in 'Honeysuckle'
I got this lipstick all the way back in April and it was love at first sight, for me its a faultless lipstick. The colour is gorgeous and the formula is everything I would hope for. For me this is a big winner!

4. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipsticks
These were my best drugstore find in 2014. They are without a doubt the best liquid lipsticks I have ever tried. 'Hot Pepper' has been my favourite red lip shade for months now.

5. Clinique Chubby Cheek Stick in 01 'Amp'd Up Apple'
There are quite a few reasons why this blush stood out for me this year. Firstly, I love the convenience of it being on a stick and how easy it is to blend into the skin with just my fingers. Secondly, it is such a lovely soft rose shade which is extremely wearable and gentle looking on the skin.

6. Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
Picking my favourite foundation for this year was so hard but I weighed them all up and decided Match Perfection won the spot. The reason I like this foundation so much is because it really doesnt cake the face and is so fresh feeling, I've re-purchased it the most and it's the one I would grab if I was running out the door.

Hope you all have a lovely NYE whether your going out or staying in!

Christmas Makeup/Beauty Gifts

Hey lovelies, Over the past couple of days I've really been enjoying everyones 'christmas present' posts and thought I would write my own sharing some of the makeup/beauty bits I received this year!

MAC Palette

I have wanted a MAC eyeshadow palette for a ridiculously long time and this year my Mum and Dad got me one as part of my Christmas gift which I was so ecstatic about. I had mentioned seven of the shades that I really wanted which are as follows: Vanilla, Shroom, Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Wood Winked, Satin Taupe and Cranberry. Some of the shades I have had before such as Naked Lunch which is one of my all time favourite MAC eyeshadows but the majority of them I haven't tried before so I'm excited to try different eye looks with them. I can't wait to fill the rest of the palette, I've already made a list of more shades I want to try! I'm definitely going to keep this palette neutral toned and hopefully in the future I will get another one for colour. I think this is such a lovely present to get so thank you parents!

The next three gifts were all from my sister who spoils me with beauty goodies each year, so thank you Holly you're such a babe!

Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude Eye Palette

I really love Bobbi Brown, I think they are slowly becoming my number one high end makeup brand. All of their products are packaged so beautifully and they never fail to produce great quality products every time. This Nectar & Nude eye palette is a unbelievably beautiful and I am smitten with it. I haven't tried all of the shades yet as I've mainly been using my MAC palette but I've swatched them all and they all look so divine, the two shimmer shades in the centre are especially gorgeous! I'm looking forward to mixing some of the shades with the MAC eyeshadows.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in 'Apricot'

This Shimmer Brick alike the palette is stunning. It has five different shades ranging from a deep apricot to a snow white shade. Mixed together they create a beautiful shimmery highlight on the skin.

Tory Burch Perfume

I've been lovingTori Burch recently and without me even mentioning it I got this lovely perfume for Christmas. This perfume smells so similar to the Chloe perfume which I used to wear all the time, when I say similar its pretty much identical. The bottle is so gorgeous and I love the intricate design of the lid, its so different and beautiful.

If you have any "What I got for Christmas" posts leave me the link, I'd love to read them!

REVIEW: MAC 'MORANGE' LIPSTICK

Hello lovelies,

I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying your Boxing Day! I was lucky enough to receive quite a few makeup products this Christmas that I will hopefully be reviewing in the New Year!

I have once again got another MAC lipstick review, quel suprise. I got this lipstick around 2 weeks ago and I've become so addicted to wearing it. 'Morange' is a really popular shade from MAC and is a bright almost neon orange shade. Although it may appear to be a very attention seeking shade its very wearable and looks beautiful with a very natural face as it really makes a statement. The formula is really creamy as it is one of MAC's Amplified cream lipsticks and applies on the lips so softly. The pigmentation is absolutely incredible, one coat is more than enough for a perfect cover of colour. It lasts for around 4 hours and then gently fades and leaves a lovely wash of orange on the lips.

This is going to be a perfect colour for Summer, which is a bit of a wait but I'll still get a lot of wear out of it until then. If you are looking for a gorgeous orange statement lipstick this ones for you!

Review: Clinique Nutcracker Palette - Act I: Snowflake Suite

Christmas is nearly here and Clinique have released a gorgeous new festive collection, the Clinique Nutcracker Suite. This collection is a really different take on the festive season and consists of lots of pinks and purples instead of the classic christmas reds and golds.

The Palette I have is the Nutcracker Act I - Snowflake Suite. Within the Palette is four eye shadows, one blush and two blush applicators. The compact itself is a great size, with a nice big mirror which I always feel is essential with a palette. The four eyeshadows are as follows:

First up is a white as snow shade which has a very pretty shimmer to it, and is perfect for highlighting the inner corner of the eyes. The next shade is my favourite as it is unlike any eyeshadow I own. Its a very subtle glittery soft pink which really looks stunning on the eyes. The third shade is a lovely taupe shade that I will probably get the most use out of, as its really gorgeous both in the crease of the eye and as an all over wash of colour. Last but not least we have a charcoal black shade which alike the soft pink has tiny flecks of glitter in it, which can be used to create a very dramatic eye look.

The blush included in the palette is called 'Plie Pink' and is a lovely bright pink that gives a beautiful flush of colour on the cheeks.

I think the Clinique Nutcracker Palettes would make such a lovely gift for Christmas! The Palette also comes in the Nutcracker Act II which contains more purple toned shades. I really would love to get my hands on the Snowflake Dreams Blended Face Powder from the collection which is a highlight which sounds, and looks heavenly.

What are your thoughts on the Clinique Nutcracker Suite Collection?
