March Favourites

Hey beauties,

I have had somewhat of a blogging break recently due to being a busy bee, but now I'm on Easter break I finally had a chance to get some writing done! I'm really looking forward to getting all my university work out of the way and finishing my exams so I can get back to posting much more frequently! This is more of February and March favourites combined as I didn't get a chance to write last months post which means that I've been really loving these products over the past two months.

1. Mac Pro-Longwear Concealer in NC20 - This concealer has been raved about a lot, and I'm not surprised why. It gives great coverage and blends really easily into the skin. I personally prefer the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer for under my eyes, but this one is great for covering blemishes.

2. Zoeva 104 Buffer Brush + 109 Face Paint Brush - I made my first order of Zoeva brushes last month and I couldn't have been happier when they arrived. Not only were they packaged so beautifully, but they also added in two travel sized brushes for free as a promotion they were doing for international women's day. Out of the brushes, I ordered these two have definitely been my favourites and I've used them pretty much every day. I've been using the buffer brush to buff in my foundation and to blend out my contour, then I've been using the face paint brush to contour my cheekbones and nose.

3. Collection Nail Varnish in 'Bare Nude' - I am without a doubt a nude nail polish hoarder, and this one is my current love. It's such a great shade to paint on if you're in a rush as if you don't do the neatest job then it's not too noticeable. I was really impressed with the collection of nail varnishes and have since ordered another 3 spring colours to wear.

4. Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade + N.12 Brush - So earlier this month my Anastasia Brow Wiz ran out and I was distraught, but seeing as how much I used it I wasn't really shocked. I thought I would try the Dip Brow Pomade out this time as I've seen so many youtube tutorials using it and I always want to try out cult products. I've had it for around two weeks now and I think I've finally got the hang of using it. I was scared at first as it's easy to make the brows pretty scary and over defined with this but with a gentle hand and the right brush, it gives a beautiful result.

Hope you had a lovely March!

Review: NYX Butter Glosses + Swatches

Fortune Cookie, Creme Brulee + Madeleine
I love a good NYX product, they're lip liners are one of my favourite lip products so I knew that the butter glosses were going to impress me. I've never been the glossy lips kind of person, I tend to prefer matte lips as normally prefer the finish. What generally puts me off of lip glosses is the stickiness and tackiness of them on the lips. However, after trying these glosses I think I have finally become a gloss convert (kind of).

The NYX Butter glosses apply to the lip so easily with their creamy texture and for lip glosses they have great pigmentation, giving a medium amount of colour. I opted for three fairly nude shades: Fortune Cookie, Creme Brûlée, and Madeleine. As you may be able to tell they all have dessert-themed names which are extremely apt as they smell divine, like a freshly baked cake. As you can tell on the lips Fortune cookie and Creme Brûlée are really similar, with Madeleine being slightly darker. I was impressed at how long they lasted on the lips and what's really nice is that they don't leave a horrible residue on the lips, instead they feel moisturised and soft.

Another great thing about these glosses is their bargain price. As I'm not the biggest gloss wearer I was never going to spend a ridiculous amount so their £5 price tag was really appealing. I've been applying these glosses over my lipstick and I love the finish of them. One of my favourite combinations so far has been Gerard Cosmetics 1995 lipstick with the Madeleine gloss, which makes the lips look plump and gorgeous!

I know I'm late on the bandwagon with these but if your trying to get into glossy lips and haven't already tried these then I would definitely get one! Also if you have any suggestions of other shades to try let me know because I want to buy a few more.

January Favourites 2015

NAR's Algoritham Bronzer - So I had been eyeing up this for a while after seeing it a lot on social media websites, the design of the packaging is so beautiful and I knew that I wanted/needed it in my life. It's basically the Nars Laguna bronzer in really gorgeous packaging and as my Laguna bronzer ran out earlier in the month I thought that I could justify the purchase (kind of). The best bit other than the design and incredible bronzer is the mini ita brush that you get inside. I wanted to buy the Nars Ita brush for ages but it's just so expensive so the fact that it came with the bronzer was an absolute bonus. I've been using it every day and love it to pieces!

Anastasia Brow Wiz in 'Soft Brown' - I've been using this raved about eyebrow pencil for over a month now, and yes it truly is one of the best eyebrow pencils out there. The spoolie itself is incredible and it's so easy to get such natural full brows with it! The thin nib of the retractable pencil makes it so easy to replicate the look of hairs and makes filling my eyebrows in a quick and simple process.

Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in 'Buttercup' - This lipstick has been living in my handbag this month as I've been wearing it almost every day. It's such a nice wash of pink on the lips and makes a difference to the darker nudes I normally wear!

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel - I love the smell of this and when my skin needs a treat I always gravitate towards it. It leaves the skin looking fresh and feeling so smooth. I tend to get a lot of dry skin around my nose area and have found that this works really well to reduce it.

Essie Nail Varnish in 'Wicked' - I tend to gravitate towards dark nails, especially in the colder months and this is the varnish that I've been obsessed with for the majority of this month. Essie always has the nicest nail varnishes and they apply so easily and last on the nails for ages.

Review: BH Cosmetics Wild Child Baked Eyeshadow Palette

 Hey lovelies,

I've wanted to try out BH Cosmetics products for a really long time as they offer a range of affordable makeup products which I have heard lots of good things about. Back at the beginning of January, I put in a big order, if you follow me on twitter you may have seen the picture of the palettes I chose, which look so gorgeous and colourful! Throughout the next month, I will be reviewing each of my purchases! To start of the BH Cosmetics reviews I have this gorgeous Wild Child baked eyeshadow palette.

The Wild Child Baked Eyeshadow palette was one of the first products to catch my eye when I was browsing the website, not only do I love the animal print packaging but the colours looked right up my street. I’ve heard really good things about the BH baked eyeshadow formula and their pigmentation so I was excited to try them out. As you can tell by the swatches the colour pay off is insanely good for the price. This nine pan palette contains a mixture of both neutral and bold shades. There are some bronze, peach, taupe, white, and purple shades. They all have a gorgeous metallic shimmer to them. You can use these shadows just as they are or you can use them with a damp brush to get an even better pigmentation which makes a lot more of an impact and in my opinion gives a much nicer finish. Another great thing about these shadows is that they really stick to the lids and with an eyeshadow primer last all night!

The packaging is a lot bigger than expected which is good as I thought it would be tiny and it has a really great large mirror which is great for when you're doing your makeup on the go. This would be a great palette to take on holiday or for a weekend away as you can create such a range of looks with the colour selection. I'm hoping to do some face of the day/night with the BH eyeshadow palettes soon so keep your eyes peeled!

This palette is currently in the sale for the bargain $9.95. The shipping took just under three weeks to arrive as it was coming all the way from America to the UK.

Hope your all having a lovely week so far!

Review: Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour & Highlight

Sculpting Contour stick in 01 Curvy Contour and the Sculpting Highlight in 01 Hefty Highlight.

If you're like me when a new contour/highlight product comes on the market its a very exciting time. Clinique has an extensive range of chubby sticks, for your eyes, cheeks, lips and now they've really upped their game and brought out ones for your highlight and contour!

A Couple of years ago I had no clue whatsoever what contouring and highlighting was and little did I know it would become an essential part of my daily routine. As my makeup obsession grew I kept hearing things about it and was so intrigued. I first tried highlighting and contouring after watching Kim Kardashian makeup tutorials on youtube and I was fixated at the way you can add so much definition to the face by adding this process to your makeup routine. My first attempts at trying it out myself left me looking hilarious with a very patchy miss matched face (we've all been there). One thing that I learnt over the years is that the key to perfect contouring and highlighting it's keeping it looking natural. Personally, I love a cream based contour opposed to powder as it looks a lot more natural and blends easier, so these two sticks sounded so ideal for me.

The contour stick is a big winner for me, it makes contouring a quick and easy process and is ideal for when you're in a rush but still want your contour game to be strong. The highlight stick is also lovely, with its pearl-like shimmer that really captures the light and makes the areas to which it is applied stand out. The two used in combination with each other really add definition to the face and allow you to sculpt out certain areas to look less or more prominent. As they're both a cream formula on a stick it makes it easy to get a precise application and then they blend out so nicely.

If you are new to highlighting and contouring these would be perfect for you as they are pretty much foolproof and are so easy to work with. These babies will be launching on the 6th February 2015 and retail at £19 a pop.

Will you be trying out the Clinique Highlight and Contour Chubbies?

Review: Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks

(L-R) Buttercup, 1995, Nude, Cherry Cordial

At long last I have got my hands on some of the Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks and boy oh boy are they beautiful. If you are an avid fan of many American Beauty Vloggers like I am then you would have seen these lipsticks talked about a lot, for months I have seen these pop up everywhere. Two of my personal favourites Carli Bybel and Jaclyn Hill rave about these lipsticks and I knew that I needed them in my life. I ordered the four lipstick deal from, and used the code thankful4 to get four shades of the lipsticks for $38 dollars(£24.82), which for four really good lipsticks is a pretty good price. The shipping was free last month which was another added bonus, and they came really quickly! As I have been lusting over the Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks for quite a while it's fair to say that I was very excited when the four of them arrived in the post. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging which is absolutely gorgeous, it's similar to the MAC lipstick shape but it has a shiny gold casing instead. I chose the following four shades:

Buttercup - A sweet pink, this is one of my favourite of the four its such a wearable everyday shade and is really nice if you like slightly glossy pink lips which still give great colour pay off.

1995 - This is the perfect shade if you're into the 'Kylie Jenner lip'. This is the lipstick that I have really heard talked about a lot. It was specially formulated to resemble Kylie's lip and it really does. Its quite a dark natural lip colour and really makes the lips look fuller.

Nude - An orange toned nude. A medium nude, it's not too dark and it's not too light.

Cherry Cordial - A vampy dark red/purple. I'm really excited to wear this one out as I love dark lips and its a really deep shade.

The formula of the Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks is really nice - its creamy to apply and they appear really matte on the lips (apart from Buttercup which has a slight gloss to it) but they don't dry your lips out at all. The lasting power is also on point they last for a really long time, I would even say some of them especially 1995 is on MAC's matte lipsticks staying power levels. I really love all of the shades that I picked up but would say Buttercup and 1995 are my absolute favourites! On a whole, I'm really impressed with them and I really want to try some more of the Gerard Cosmetics products, they also have a really nice selection of lip glosses that complement the lipsticks.

Hope your all having a lovely day!

2014 Makeup Favourites

2014 has almost come to an end and the New Year is less than 24 hours away, which for me is a very scary concept. This year has flown by unbelievably quickly and has on a whole been a really good year for me. As a round up for the year, I thought I would share my top makeup products of 2014. I've picked six makeup products that I personally have loved throughout the year, the majority of them I've been using for the whole year and others are ones that I've discovered this year and have really stood out for me.

1. MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter in 'Light Boost'

The thing I love most about this highlighter is that it's on a brush so it's easy to apply and gives just enough precision for highlighting those tricky places like the bridge of the nose. It's so lightweight and the shade is perfect for brightening up under the eyes.

2. Clinique Universal Primer

I've been using this primer for over a year now and for me, it's my go-to base. It preps the skin perfectly for foundation application and has just become an essential part of my makeup routine.

3. Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour in 'Honeysuckle'

I got this lipstick all the way back in April and it was love at first sight, for me, it's a faultless lipstick. The colour is gorgeous and the formula is everything I would hope for. For me, this is a big winner!

4. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipsticks

These were my best drugstore find in 2014. They are without a doubt the best liquid lipsticks I have ever tried. 'Hot Pepper' has been my favourite red lip shade for months now.

5. Clinique Chubby Cheek Stick in 01 'Amp'd Up Apple'

There are quite a few reasons why this blush stood out for me this year. Firstly, I love the convenience of it being on a stick and how easy it is to blend into the skin with just my fingers. Secondly, it is such a lovely soft rose shade which is extremely wearable and gentle looking on the skin.

6. Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Picking my favourite foundation for this year was so hard but I weighed them all up and decided Match Perfection won the spot. The reason I like this foundation so much is that it really doesn't cake the face and is so fresh feeling, I've re-purchased it the most and it's the one I would grab if I was running out the door.

Hope you all have a lovely NYE whether you're going out or staying in!
