I always get overly excited when a new Nars product is added to my beauty collection, there's just something about the smooth, sleek packaging that makes me melt inside. The Delphes eyeshadow trio has been around for a while but I've never really heard too much about it. However, my sister gave it to me as part of my birthday present and I now absolutely adore it. This is my first Nars eyeshadow trio and I was intrigued as to whether it would be as amazing as their face products, the laguna bronzer and orgasm blush are my Nars favourites. The Trio itself is so compact and it has a mirror which makes it even more handy!  If you explained this palette to me without me seeing it I would without a doubt be puzzled by the weird colour combo, but they actually work really nicely together. The three shades are as follows:

Sparkling Sheer Peach - Firstly we have this lovely sparkly pinky peach shade which is so pretty. It's not as pigmented as the other shades but works really nicely when used as a highlight. The only downfall with this one is that it does contain some large bits of glitter which ultimately lead to fall out. You have to place a tissue under your eyes when applying to avoid your entire face looking like a disco ball.

Matte Dove Grey - This cool dove grey shade is probably the shade I will use the most out of the three, its really buildable and perfect for creating a smoky eye. Like the peachy pink shade it has glitter in it but its very subtle and leaves more of a frosted finish. On first application its quite sheer but it can be built up to a strong, bold grey.

Frosted Sage - Out of the three I've probably worn this shade the least as I'm not a 'green' kinda person but the consistency and colour payoff of this shade when built up is great. It has a metallic finish and really makes my brown eyes pop.

They all stay on the lids for a substantial amount of time, around 6-7 hours. I was really impressed how well these shadows blended into the skin, they appear to have an almost creamy finish. I would definitely say that the eye-shadows aren't as amazing as Nars face products but they're still really nice. If you love cool toned eye shadows that are a bit different then this is a perfect option out of the NARS Trios.

July Favourites

So I haven't blogged in a very long time and writing this feels extremely strange. There wasn't one specific reason I stopped blogging, it was just a mixture of being busy and feeling uninspired. I'm going to try and get back into blogging a couple of times a week because I really do love it and I miss how committed I was to my little blog. I thought the best way to get back into it was with one of my favourite posts to write which are monthly faves. This month has been great, I celebrated my 19th birthday and went to Greece for a girls holiday so most of my July faves are holiday/summer related.

MAC Pearl Frost Cream Colour base £15.50 - Highlighting is my favourite makeup routine during the summer. I love the high shine this highlighter gives and on a tan it shows up so well. I've stuck to fresh dewy skin this Summer and this highlighter has been a main part of my makeup routine. Another thing I love about this highlighter is that a little goes a long way, you only need the tiniest amount!

Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment £24.00 - I'm so sad I've nearly finished this lip balm, it's by far the best high end lip balm I've tried. I smother my lips in this stuff every night and wake up to the softest lips I've ever had. The moisture lasts throughout most of the day so I hardly ever have to top it up. It's the perfect base for lipstick as well! The only downside is the very high price tag which is quite hard to justify but it has lasted me quite a long time.
ASOS Sunglasses £10.00 - These things have been with me everyday this month and I can't seem to peel them off of my face. On holiday I hate wearing makeup during the day especially when its so hot and melts off of your face so these were great to put on and cover up my sleep deprived and hungover eyes. They're such a nice shape and I will probably keep wearing them until they break!

Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray £21.00 - This bottle of freshness was my holiday savior! I get extremely hot when I'm out in the sun and my skin often feels tight and dry on my face from sun exposure. Spraying this on my face would make me feel so much better, refreshing my skin and making me look like I have dewy, healthy skin.  With the warm weather London has been having I'm sure I'll make my way through this bottle by the end of the Summer.

SONY White Headphones £10.99 - A bit of a odd July fave but I brought these beauties on Amazon earlier in the month after breaking multiple pairs of cheap earphones. I didn't want to spend a fortune on headphones so when I came across these on amazon for £10.99 I thought I would give them a go. They are by far the best headphones I've owned and make everything sound so much better. If your looking for a new pair I would without a doubt check out these ones.

I hope you've all had a lovely July!

REVIEW: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

I am extremely picky when it comes to foundation. I ideally like a foundation that isn't too heavy but leaves me looking flawless and glowing. I'm on a continuous hunt for the perfect foundation so I'm always trying out new ones. I've been using Revlons Photoready foundation for around a month and a half now so I think it's finally time to share my thoughts. The last Revlon foundation I used was around four years ago and because I didn't like it very much so I never really tried out any of their other foundations. However, I had read that this foundation was very similar to Makeup Forever’s HD foundation which I really wanted but couldn't bare the price tag so obviously on one of my many boots trips I picked it up. I've actually been wanting to try the Photoready range for quite a while as I'm a sucker for anything that suggests that I'll look picture perfect. The actual packaging is really mini and I'm not the biggest fan of the bottle but it's what's on the inside that counts right?

So let's get down to the nitty gritty.
The finish it definitely satin, and the product does have very tiny sparkles in it that make your face look me it's naturally glowing but does leave the skin looking rather sparkley and Edward Cullen esque in certain light. However, I think this is one of the reasons that it photographs so well. This foundation contains photochromatic pigments that apparently bend and reflect light to help erase every flaw. Obviously it doesn't remove every flaw but it does give a considerable amount of coverage. I was expecting a much heavier coverage but I think if it did give more coverage it would be really heavy on the face. I picked up the shade 004 Nude and its just slightly darker than my skin tone and blends really nicely into the skin. I think its a really good colour match as I like to be close to my skin tone but always the tiniest bit darker.

Overall I really like this foundation, it's perfect for special occasions and for when you really want a full face of makeup. I won't be wearing this everyday but I will be reaching this on many occasions, particularly on a night out!

Are you a fan of Revlon foundations? Let me know if you have any suggestions of any good ones!

April Favourites

April has been such a lovely month, the weathers mostly been great and I've seen loads of my family which is always nice. On the blog front I've been pretty naughty and haven't posted much this month which has been a mixture of me being busy and being super lazy but I'm kicking my butt back into action so hopefully the posts will keep rolling out!

Beauty wise this month I've been loving quite a few products but I've narrowed it down to three that have particularly shone for me. First of all there's the Tom Ford cream colour for eyes in the shade 02 Guilt. Guilt is a gorgeous light shimmery gold which is so effortlessly easy to apply. I've been loving just wearing this with some mascara during the day as it really looks so pretty. I've also been loving the MAC Prep + Prime transparent finishing powder, as I have quite dull, dry skin I always stick to using a very fine powder that wont cake my skin and accentuate any dry patches. This powder works so well for me so I definitely think I'll be repurchasing this once it runs out! The last of the three is my beloved MAC Soft + Gentle Skin Mineralize finish, this is really an all time favourite but I can say that I've worn it everyday this month so I thought I would squeeze it in.  I've also been using it as a eyeshadow and to illuminate by brow bone which I don't normally do but it looks really good.

My favorite fashion piece of the month would have to be my new Dorothy Perkins Orange heels. Now I'm mainly a monochrome girl but one colour I also allow in my wardrobe would have to be orange. I'm so in love with these shoes, they're so comfy and are the perfect height! I also think they were quite a bargin, I brought them instore for £25 but they're now online for £22.50, which I personally feel is a really great price.

Book wise I started reading the vampire academy books this month and I've got to say I think they're great. I hate to admit it but I love fantasy books with a love story, I can't help it they're just so easy to read and become immersed in. I've read all six books in the series this month, so I've got through them pretty quickly! If you know of any other good books/series to read let me know cause I need to start a new one soon!

Hope you've had a lovely April!

REVIEW: MAC Lipstick in 'Angel'

Angel is a soft cool toned light pink which is perfect for a quick wash of pink on the lips. The coverage is certainly buildable and you can develop a great nude pink colour. This is the first frost finish lipstick I've purachased from MAC, I found it lasted for around three hours which isn't great but I didn't expect it to last for hours on end. It's not exactly moisturising but it doesn't dry out the lips to much either. I do however like to apply lip balm afterwards just because I like my lips to look and feel soft and smooth. Out of all of the formulas I've tried I definitely prefer the other MAC finishes more, I think its because its slightly pearlised which I'm not a huge fan of. I'm a bit on the edge whether I like this lipstick or not. I don't think it suits me extremely well but sometimes it can look so beautiful on. However, it is a really pretty lipstick so if you like nude/light pink lipsticks and don't mind pearl finishes then I would go check out Angel!

Top 3 Cleansing Balms

My favourite way to cleanse is without a doubt with a good old cleansing balm. I've rounded up three of my favourites to share with you all. If you are looking for a new cleansing balm then I would definitely check out the ones below, as they are some of the best cleansing balms I've tried. I personally have quite dry skin and suffer from breakouts now and then and find these three all work equally well for me.

Clinique Take The Day Off

This cleansing balm definitely wins the title for being the most efficient cleanser. It removes all makeup including those pesky clumps of mascara and does it all so easily and quickly. Only the smallest amount is needed to ensure your skin cleansed and makeup free, leaving no residue on the skin. This cleanser is perfect for sensitive skin types as it is fragrance free and so is unlikely to irritate the skin. Whenever my skin is going through a rough time, normally hormonal I tend to only stick to this balm as it is sure to not cause any further inflammation. If you prefer to have a more invigorating cleansing process then I would defiantly opt for the other two balms in this post as they are much more luxurious. However, if you just want to get the job done and remove every inch of makeup on your face then look no further than this wonder of a balm! At £21 for 125ml this is definitely the most pocket friendly out of the three!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

This is the perfect luxourious cleansing balm for skin that really needs a pick me up. Whenever I use Elemis products I always feel like I'm having a spa treatment, everything from the invigorating scent and texture of this balm sends your skin into heaven. You can't actually use this balm over your eyes so I often tend to remove my makeup with a millicillar solution (either bioderma or L'Oreal) and then cleanse the skin afterwards. I don't tend to use this balm too often as it's more of a weekly treat for my skin but it softens, nourishes and removes face makeup and daily grime really well. Whats also nice is that it can be used as a mask on the skin for 10 minutes to really give the skin a deep cleanse and treat. At £39.50 for 105g this definitely climbs up the price ladder from the Clinique balm so it is certainly more of an indulgent buy.

Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser

This cleanser is described as 'beautiful skin in a jar' which isn't far from the truth. Unlike the other two I only started using this balm around three months ago. Last year I read a rave review of this cleanser on Caroline Hirrons blog so I knew that I had to try it. This cleanser is for any skin type but I feel its works extremely well with my dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling supple and moisturised and really softens some of my dry patches. This cleanser is a combination of balancing, elastin and collagen promoting Organic Jojoba Oil, with beeswax and essential oils. What I particularly like about this product is that I recognise every single one of the ingredients which is always a great sign as its nice to know I'm not putting any unknown chemicals on my skin. Scent wise it smells very lush like, it has a very natural beautiful smell that makes the cleansing process so much more enjoyable. Out of the three it is the most expensive at £43 for 100ml which I must say is extremely pricey but it is a awesome cleansing balm. I'm hoping the jar will last me a while!

I rotate between the three with the main one being the Clinique Take the Day off as it does the job so easily and after a long day all I really want to do is take my makeup off as quickly as possible and jump into bed. I hope this post has been useful for anyone who is looking for a new balm!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour in 'Honeysuckle'

Last week I finally got around to adding this beautiful Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour to my growing lipstick collection.
I always find a fault in a lipstick whether its too drying or doesn't last long enough but I really can't seem to discredit this one in any way. Bobbi Brown describe it perfectly as a innovative lipstick that combines rich colour, comfortable wear, and a soft, creamy shine. I love the creamy shine aspect as it makes the lips look so smooth and plump with the slight gloss but doesn't feel sticky whatsoever. Honeysuckle is my perfect kind of nude, it's described as a yellow beige shade but I would say its more of a warm light honey toned nude.

Not only does the lipstick look beautiful on but it's also beneficial for your lips. Formulated with emollient Shea Butter and skin conditioners, it leaves lips soft and moisturised. It's extremely balmy and just feels like a moisturising lip balm on the lips which is quite surprising considering the great colour pay off and the considerable amount of time it stays on the lips. I love the sleek black metalised case its so simple yet so slick. I must admit although I swear by my beloved MAC lipsticks I think this is the best lipstick I have ever owned.

I will undoubtedly continue to purchase this lipstick and I'm already eying up a couple of the other shades. The Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour lipsticks retail at £19.00 and I rarely say this but they are worth the price. So if you are looking to invest in a nude lipstick then I would definitely consider this one!
